How it works
Mechanical tension during resistance exercise triggers muscle protein synthesis and, over time, hypertrophy. Increased shoulder and back development widens the upper torso, improving shoulder-to-waist ratio — one of the most consistently rated aspects of male physique attractiveness. It also improves posture, insulin sensitivity and bone density.
How it's used
Two to four sessions weekly, focused on compound movements — squat, hinge, horizontal and vertical press and pull. Train each muscle group roughly twice a week with 10–20 hard sets weekly per group. Progressive overload matters more than programme novelty. Prioritise shoulders, upper back and lats for visual width.
